0RAG0025A Raggedy Ann in the Magic Hard Cover Book, J. Gruelle, 1939
Johnny Gruelle's Hardcover Book, Raggedy Ann in the Magic, was written by Johnny Gruelle, and illustrated by his son, Worth Gruelle, copyrighted and printed in 1939. Johnny Gruelle Company is the publisher of this First Edition book. This book is complete with its original color and black-and-white drawings, and it has 92 pages, though there are no numbered pages in this early edition. It tells a story about the Raggedy dolls, the toys, and the magical fairy tale characters in the deep woods. The dolls and toys come to life whenever Marcella and her family are either away or asleep, and sometimes they go to the Deep Woods or other outside locations. Tightly bound, has all pages in very good condition. The cover has some minor fraying at the corners, and the name of a previous little owner and the gift givers are written in pen on the inside title page, but other than that this is an exceptional and rare find.
