The Jack-in-the-Box belonged to Marcella's visiting cousin, David, who left it in the library when he went on a picnic with her family. The Jack-in-the-Box hid his shyness behind bragging and arrogance when he shut himself in his box and tried to avoid playing with the other toys who invited him to come out and play circus. His music was perfect for their circus, and he ended up joining in the fun. When the people are away the dolls, stuffed animals, and young animals come to life and talk and interact with one another in drawings like classical ones. Its ISBN numbers is ISBN 10: 1558021116.
